Speeding around Eaton Village

I am sure that we have all noticed that despite fewer vehicles on the road during this period of lockdown many drivers are exceeding the speed limits. This has been particularly noticeable on Greenways and Church Lane in Eaton where the speed limit is 20mph but is being ignored by too many drivers. There are a lot more cyclists on the road now and also many more pedestrians out and about taking their daily exercise and drivers should keep within the limits for the safety of all.

The speed limit for Eaton Village is 20mph and we thank all those drivers who are complying with this and driving with care.

Norfolk Police are supporting the #SlowDownSaveLives national speed campaign which is being launched on 25th May and will see an increase in checks and enforcement around the area.

The objectives of this year’s campaign are to tackle irresponsible drivers, reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in collisions, educate and inform drivers of the risks posed by speeding and finally to support new roads users as well as cyclists to remain safe on our roads.
