Thank you again for supporting our 15th Eaton Village Scarecrow Festival!

24 inventive scarecrows popped up across the village, it’s clear just how creative and resourceful our community is! We also had 9 garage sales on the opening Saturday, and Elaine’s brilliant bake sale raised £166 for EVRA funds, thanks to generous donations from residents. There was even a queue before 10am and everything sold out!

It’s been great to see so many of you visiting the scarecrows, voting for your favourites, and sharing kind comments. These events bring our community together, but they only happen thanks to the time and effort of our Events Planning Team and EVRA Committee members, all of whom are volunteers.

We now need more people to get involved. Our committee is currently the smallest it’s ever been as we have a vacant Vice-Chair position and only 3 out of 5 roles filled at the last AGM. We know life is busy (it is for us too!), but without more support, it will be difficult to keep organising events like this and responding to village matters.

The commitment isn’t huge. The committee meets every two months, with updates handled by email between meetings. The Events Team manages their own planning and reports back to the committee for funding and updates.

We’d love to see more residents join in — whether you’re working full time, retired, or somewhere in between, your skills and ideas can help us keep Eaton Village thriving.
