EVRA – Looking Ahead to 2022

The EVRA Committee has been planning its programme for 2022 and the events and dates proposed are as follows:

  • 15-18 April – Easter/Spring windows or front garden displays and Easter Trail.
  • 7th May – Contribute to St Andrew’s Church Eco Day
  • 2nd June – Jubilee celebrations
  • 16-24 July – Scarecrow Festival
  • 17th July Family Fun Day
  • August – Hold another Environment Day on Marston Marsh

We are considering how we can contribute to St Andrew’s Church Eco day and will firm up on our involvement in due course.

We have several ideas for celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee day but this is still a work in progress. We are also interested in any ideas that Eaton residents may have and would welcome their participation in taking these forward. It would be great if we could arrange some 50’s themed fun events for children and assistance to organise these would be required. It would seem appropriate to have a Jubilee theme for our Scarecrow Festival and it would be good to have 70 scarecrows around the Village – one for each year of the Queen’s reign.

The activities in August to mark the tenth anniversary since the accessible path was laid round Marston Marsh was so successful that we intend to have something similar in 2022. Some people commented that they would like an opportunity for adults and teenagers to participate in activities such as dyke dipping, bug hunting and learning more about the flowers and plants on the Marsh. We could organise this but when would be the best time to run this for adults:  A week day, late afternoon/evening or at the weekend? Let Vic Flute know if you are interested and your preferences by the end of the second week of January and we will see what we can arrange. You can contact Vic at: Vicechair.evra@gmail.com

Further details on EVRA events and other matters of interest will be published in the Spring Newsletter delivered to Eaton Village Residents in March 2022.
