Proposed Tree work along Yare Valley River Walk, Cringleford

We have received the following information from the Arboricultural Officer at Norwich City Council:

I am writing to inform you that Norwich City Council will be carrying out some essential tree safety work along the Yare Valley River Walk in Cringleford (the red line on the attached plan). The work will involve felling and/or pollarding, several very large, over-mature willow trees adjacent to the river.

Here is the plan: yare-valley-tree-works-location

We have been inspecting these trees for many years, and unfortunately, the time has come where we can no longer retain them (in their current form), in a safe condition.

The work will commence at the end of October, and last for approximately 6 weeks (depending on weather conditions). During this time we will need to close a section of the footpath between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30.

Notices will be placed at various points along the footpath to inform the public, and letters to the residents on the opposite side of the bank will be sent, informing them of the work.

If you have any queries or concerns about this work, please do not hesitate to contact me.

 Yours sincerely,

 Mark Dunthorne
