Closure of Cringleford Meadow Car Park

We have just been informed about improvement work taking place on Cringleford Meadow – the open space by Cringleford Bridge accessed by the path on Eaton Street opposite the entrance to the Waitrose car park. There will be no vehicle access to the area and restricted pedestrian access to the meadow during the works starting Monday 16th May for up to 8 weeks as set out in the notice below.

An alternative footpath to access the Yare Valley riverside path is marked on the map below in blue and can be accessed from Bluebell Road.

Norwich City Council officers have secured £47,000 from the Greater Norwich Community Infrastructure Levy to undertake improvements to the Yare Valley Walk and Cringleford Meadow car park.

This work will be commencing on Monday 16 May and will last for 6 to 8 weeks. Cringleford Meadow and its car park will be closed to the public throughout this time to ensure the contractor can safely undertake the work.

This is a very popular walking route and the City Council have arranged with their contractor that they enable evening and weekend pedestrian access to the riverside path when and where safe to do so.
