Sue Howes-Ward has been in touch to tell us about being an Independent Visitor for the Coram Voice Charity and offer you the opportunity to become a volunteer.
Hello
I am a volunteer with the above service which is overseen by Coram Voice. Coram Voice is a charity that supports children and young people in and around the care system; we work in partnership with Norfolk County Council to provide an ‘Independent Visitor’ service for young people aged 5 to 18+ in the care of the local authority.
As Independent Visitors, we are volunteers who provide a reliable and consistent point of contact for a child who is isolated and has limited or no family contact. At the moment we are trying to recruit more Independent Visitor volunteers as we have many looked-after children on our waiting list.
You can read more about this on the Coram Voice website at: Being an Independent Visitor – Coram Voice
