Funding: Innovative horticulture

Operating as an annual bursary programme, the English Garden Future Fund is rewarding projects that will inspire gardeners and promote horticulture in the UK. Each year for at least the next five years, the English Garden Magazine will award one recipient up to £5,000 to help fund or part-fund an innovative project, initiative, event, product, idea, research or development. The sponsor is particularly interested in projects where the award will be able to make a marked, notable difference and show obvious improvement, gains or some sort of completion within eight months of receiving the award. The closing date for applications is 28th November. For more details, visit www.theenglishgarden.co.uk/news-events/the-english-garden-future-fund

Funding: Norfolk Warm and Well Fund

The Norfolk Warm & Well Fund is now open for applications. It has been set up to support voluntary groups and charities that work to assist vulnerable people in their local community who face particular hardship over the winter months.

Grants of up to £2,500 are available for projects that help those in the community facing very real challenges as the weather gets colder; including the frail elderly, people with chronic medical conditions and the homeless. Families and children living in disadvantaged households are also included amongst those the Warm & Well Fund aims to support.

Projects can, for example, include activities that help to reduce isolation for older and disabled people, provide a hot meal or warm clothing, or help vulnerable people to access local services and information that may prevent a crisis situation arising.

Grants are not available to individuals. Constituted voluntary / community groups and charities can apply.  Organisations such as churches and Parish Councils may also apply for projects that benefit the wider community and are outside statutory obligations.
