125 New hedging trees planted on Donkey Lane

Eaton Village volunteers planted 125 hedging trees on Donkey Lane over the weekend of 10th/11th February to fill gaps in the hedgerow. We thank our volunteers for all their work planting trees and tidying up along the lane. EVRA has managed the banks along the lane through an agreement with Council since 2015.

EVRA purchased the trees through the Million Trees for Norfolk scheme which provided these at half-price. The trees help to soften the impact of the metal fence along the lane and also provide a more species rich hedgerow. The hedging trees planted were: Hazel, Hawthorn, Guelder Rose, Dogwood and Crab Apple to add to the Hazel, Hawthorn, Rowan and Holly we planted in 2015.
